Woman Dies Visiting Here Redmond UP) Mrs. J. O, Hansen, 1, resident of the Ter rebone and Redmond com munitirs for 47 years, died Wednesday in Salem where she had gone to visit her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hansen. Funeral services will be held in Redmond. Her husband, J. O. Hansen, died here January 23 at the age of 78. Aged Oak Falls At Dallas High Dallas, Ora. (" A hug oak tree crashed at the entrance to Dallas High School Wednesday a few minutes after students bad cleared from the area to enter afternoon classes. About 100 feet tall and four feet In diameter, the tree top pled over from the effects of age-weakened roots and heavy rains which loosened the soil. . It fell onto the concrete slab at the school entrance, but no damage was noted. It long had been a landmark. It was on the campus when Dal las College wss in existence. Barton, 80, former resident of the Broadacres district near Woodburn, died at a Portland Nursing home Tuesday, De cember 8, after a long illness. Barton was born In Russia April 1, 1873, and moved to Canada In 1894, where he had a homestead. In 19Z4 he moved to Silverton, Ore.; and 20 years later to the Broad acres distrllct. Survivors Include two sons, Fred Barton of San Francisco, William Barton of Portland; three daughters, Elizabeth Mc Ketch of Vancouver, B.C., Molly Slinkard of Redding, Calif., and Nellie Knight of Broadacres; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
